Migrant Report

Migrant Report is a non-profit project designed to measure, investigate and document the impact of human movement. Our primary focus is on the Mediterranean as a focal point of human migration from Africa to Europe. In 2014 there were more than 3,400 deaths in this sea despite efforts by European countries to mitigate the loss of life. These drownings were also a direct result of groups selling the promise of transportation on unseaworthy and overcrowded vessels designed to require rescue at sea.

Migrant Report was founded by Robert Young Pelton and is edited by Mark Micallef. The venture is sponsored by the Organization for Better Security (OBS), a Malta-based NGO. OBS forms part of the Tangiers Group, which is owned by Christopher and Regina Catrambone, founders of the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS).
